THIS IS WHAT WE DO

Our Goal is to Equip & Empower Restorative Community Leaders

Men and women who believe that God can and will work through us to restore what is fallen and broken to the way they were intended. Who will "act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly" with God.

WHAT DO WE VALUE

Biblical JUSTICE

We believe the body of Christ is the hope for the healing and rebuilding of the city (Isaiah 61) and the establishment of justice. We pray to "Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream."( Amos 5:24) We believe that true spirituality is demonstrated in compassionate action on behalf of others. We are learning about Biblical Justice while pursuing it within our community. Ministry House interns volunteer with agencies or church programs engaged in compassionate action on behalf of others. This includes serving children, the poor, the homeless, migrant farmworkers, abused tenants, the elderly, or victims of racial hatred.

INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY

We recognize that building community is a process, so we open ourselves up to sharing our lives and having common commitments. We commit ourselves to transparent relationships and pursue a consistent practice of honest and loving communication and conflict resolution. Ministry House interns intentionally practice the “one another’s” of the Bible, learning to live an inter-dependent life. Knowing that major differences exist based on race, culture, and gender, we pledge ourselves to a climate that facilitates understanding and reconciliation. We are inspired by the new commandment Christ gave us "that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you have a love for one another." (John 13:34,35).

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

We seek to embody integrity, discipline, and the courage to do what’s right in the midst of conflict, spiritual warfare, and unjust systems. Ministry House interns intentionally open themselves up to the influence of more mature leaders, wanting to be faithful, available, and teachable. Knowing that ministry grows out of our identity in Christ, we consistently seek opportunities to grow and develop in order to acquire new skills, perspectives, and motivations to participate in Christ's redeeming transformation of our communities.
